Who we are

Board is made by Yahia Salem, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at support@example.com.

What stays on your Mac

Everything you put into Board lives on your Mac, in Board’s own storage: tasks, groups, notes, comments, checklists, week notes, the time you’ve focused, and your settings. The tokens you use to connect other services are kept in your Mac’s Keychain. We never receive any of it, and Board doesn’t copy it anywhere else.

Your calendar is read from the Calendar app on your Mac, with your permission. Prayer times are worked out on your Mac, without the network.

What Board sends, and to whom

• Lemon Squeezy, for your license. When you activate a license, about once a week after that, and when you deactivate a Mac, Board sends your license key, this Mac’s name (to label the activation) and Board’s version. Nothing about your tasks.
• GitHub, for updates. Once a day, unless you turn it off in Settings ▸ General ▸ Updates, Board fetches its list of updates from GitHub, and downloads an update from there when you install one. GitHub sees an ordinary web request.
• Open-Meteo, for the weather. If the weather is on (it is by default), Board sends your location, rounded to about a kilometre, to Open-Meteo about every 30 minutes. You can turn the weather off in Settings.
• Apple, for places. If you choose Use My Location, macOS Location Services finds it once; if you type a city, macOS’s map search looks it up. Board keeps the place on your Mac.
• AI assistants you connect. If you turn on Settings ▸ Connections ▸ AI assistants, assistants on your Mac (such as Claude or Codex) can read your tasks, notes and comments, and, if you allow each, change them and see your connections’ items: what each connection’s tile says, your open work and review requests from the services you connect, and the coming week’s meetings. Never your tokens, and never mail beyond its unread count. Board talks to the assistant on your Mac only; the assistant sends what it reads to its own service (for example Anthropic or OpenAI), under that service’s privacy policy. Everything is off until you turn it on.
• Services you connect. If you connect Gmail or Google Calendar, ClickUp, Plane or GitHub, Board talks to them directly from your Mac, with your own sign-in or token, and only reads. For Gmail it reads labels, counts and message headers (sender and subject), never message bodies. Those services’ own privacy policies apply.

What we don’t do

Board has no analytics, no crash reporting of its own, no advertising and no tracking. We don’t sell or share information about you, because we don’t have it.

Buying Board

Board is sold through Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record: they take the payment, handle tax and send your receipt and license key. They collect what they need for that, such as your name, email address, payment details and billing country, under their privacy policy. We can see your order (name, email address and what you bought) so we can help you with it. We never see your full card details.

This website

This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no trackers, and its fonts, pictures and sounds are served from the site itself. If you turn the page’s sound on, your browser remembers that choice on your device; it isn’t sent anywhere. Like any website, our host may keep short-lived server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the site running. The download button takes you to GitHub, whose privacy policy applies there.

When you email us

If you write to us, we use your message and email address only to reply, and keep them only as long as we need to help you.

Your choices

• Disconnecting an account in Settings ▸ Accounts deletes its token from your Keychain; for Google it also revokes Board’s access.
• To remove everything Board has stored, quit Board, delete the folders ~/Library/Containers/com.yahiaes.board and ~/Library/Group Containers/VYKA6S43JV.com.yahiaes.board, and remove Board’s items (named com.yahiaes.board) in Keychain Access. Deleting the app alone leaves your data in place.
• To see or delete the order details we hold, email us. For anything Lemon Squeezy holds, you can also contact them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters, such as Board sending something new, we’ll say so in the release notes too.
